World's first electric flex fuel vehicle launch on August 29 by Nitin Gadkari, could be Toyota Innova

"Revolutionary Breakthrough: India's First Ethanol-Powered Car Set to Change the Game on August 29th!"

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is set to introduce a groundbreaking version of the Toyota Innova, a vehicle that operates exclusively on ethanol, a renewable fuel sourced from plants. The unveiling of this innovative car is scheduled for August 29. Gadkari's initiative aligns with his efforts to promote car manufacturers' development of eco-friendly vehicles utilizing alternative fuels. Notably, the Minister for Road, Transport and Highways had previously launched the Toyota Mirai EV, a vehicle powered by hydrogen-generated electricity, further highlighting his commitment to sustainability.

At the Mint Sustainability Summit, Gadkari revealed his plans to launch the electric flex-fuel Toyota Innova MPV, specifically designed to run on 100 percent ethanol, on August 29. This vehicle holds a remarkable distinction as the world's first BS-VI (Stage-II) electrified flex-fuel automobile, as officially communicated by Toyota through their media invitation.

The Minister underlined the car's pioneering nature, as it achieves Stage 2 BS6 compatibility while being exclusively fueled by 100 percent ethanol, denoted by the label "E100". This achievement is of considerable significance for India, marking a rapid transition from the introduction of E10 to the development of E100 cars in a relatively short span.

Gadkari's enthusiasm for biofuels dates back to 2004, sparked by escalating petrol prices within the country. His exploration of this field led him to Brazil, where he recognized the vast potential of biofuels. He strongly believes that these sustainable alternatives have the capacity to substantially reduce the nation's reliance on foreign exchange for petroleum imports. Gadkari emphasized the economic importance of curbing oil imports, which currently amount to Rs 16 lakh crore, resulting in significant financial loss for the nation.

As part of his ongoing efforts, Gadkari's introduction of the ethanol-powered Toyota Innova is a significant stride towards achieving energy self-sufficiency and fostering a cleaner, more sustainable transportation landscape.
